Good evening,
Today’s All Core Developers Consensus call was a short one, which inspired me to try out a new format for today’s ACD After Hours post.
Instead of breaking up my content about the latest ACD call into two posts, I’ve combined it into one. So, this issue will contain both the summary and insights of today’s call.
The format is similar to my ACD After Hours posts on the All Core Developers Testing call, which go out on Mondays. The call summary in these posts is available to read up top for all subscribers. Premium subscribers get access to the full newsletter, which carries on with pointed call takeaways and other relevant content.
I figure this is a more efficient way to share my thoughts on the ACD calls each week that will also help lighten your inbox slightly and free up some room for new content I’m cooking up for my Substack.
Please let me know what you think of the new format! Your feedback on my newsletters is welcome and appreciated. :)
Without further ado, here is my full summary and insights for All Core Developers Consensus Call (ACDC) #163.
Yours truly,
Christine D. Kim

Fusaka Devnets
After a period of non-finality, Fusaka Devnet-3 is stable.
Client teams are working on fixes for testing on Devnet-3.
Fusaka Devnet-4 has been deprecated.
Fusaka Devnet-5 timeline is unclear.
On Monday’s testing call, developers discussed a launch for next Tuesday, August 26.
Updates shared on today’s call suggest client teams will not be ready for Devnet-5 launch until late next week or early the first week of September.
Readiness of client release versions for Fusaka Devnet-5 can be tracked here.
Fusaka Specifications
PR #4508 (Set MAX_BLOB_COMMITMENTS_PER_BLOCK minimal preset to 4096) for testing higher blob gas limits has been merged into Fusaka specifications.
There is a new version of Fusaka specifications for the consensus layer, v1.6.0-alpha.5, almost ready for release.
Edge cases identified in the blob parameter only (BPO) hard fork design were discussed by developers and determined to be a non-issue.
Glamsterdam
There will be a breakout call next Wednesday, August 27, to discuss the design of EIP 7928, block-level access lists (BALs). EIP 7928 is the headliner feature for the Glamsterdam upgrade on the execution layer (EL).
There will also be a breakout call next Friday, August 29, to discuss the design of EIP 7732, enshrined proposer builder separation (ePBS). EIP 7732 is the headliner feature for the Glamsterdam upgrade on the consensus layer (CL).
Prysm developer “Potuz” shared an update on progress for the implementation of EIP 7732. He said tests are being created, and the specifications for the proposal are being finalized. There are a few key aspects of specifications, such as “dual deadlines”, that are still missing. Also, new edge cases are being identified in EIP as more eyes review the code.
Ethereum Foundation (EF) researchers Ansgar Dietrichs and Maria Inês Silva have created a draft EIP for the inclusion of various gas repricing and optimization efforts in Glamsterdam. They are requesting feedback on the EIP.
EF Protocol Coordination Co-Team Lead Alex Stokes gave a reminder that all proposals for Glamsterdam should be submitted by the time Fusaka mainnet client releases are ready, which is estimated to be sometime in October.
