Below is an overview of the public forums where discussions about Bitcoin Core and protocol development occur.
Introduction
Bitcoin is a technology developed and maintained by a decentralized collective.
The processes and norms that govern Bitcoin’s development are discussed in the first post of this series. Key participants in the Bitcoin development process are highlighted in the second post.
This third tool in the BTC Toolkit highlights the public forums where anyone can get involved and start contributing to Bitcoin development.
In addition, this document offers supplementary resources for readers to learn more about Bitcoin’s evolution and actively participate in current discussions on this topic through in-person meetings and conferences.
Although not an exhaustive list of all the available resources and touchpoints for Bitcoin developers, the primary meetings and forums where conversations about the development of Bitcoin Core and the Bitcoin protocol are highlighted below.

Bitcoin Core Developers Meeting
Similar to the Ethereum All Core Developers (ACD) calls, a weekly meeting series brings together Bitcoin Core developers to discuss and coordinate the development of Bitcoin Core software.
These meetings take place on Thursdays at 16:00 UTC/ 12:00 ET on the Libera.Chat Internet Relay Chat (IRC) network.
